Antoine Katz

Bass player / Composer 

Born in Caen, France, Antoine Katz started his musical journey at the early age of 6, by playing cello. After 12 years of conservatory studies, he decided to switch to electric bass. It was only after 3 years of playing, that he was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College of Music with the European scholarship. 

During his time at Berklee, Antoine developed his ability to play in a wide range of musical styles, including Gospel, Afro Cuban, Jazz , R&B, and Funk. He has studied with Victor Bailey, John Patitucci, David Fuzcinsky, and Bruce Gertz. Now a Brooklyn,NY, resident, Antoine Katz is developing his career as a live and studio musician and composer. 

He has played/recorded with artists/groups such as : Harry Belafonte,  Jennah Bell, Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles,  Lunchmoney Lewis ,Patti Austin, Siedah Garrett , Charlie Puth, Talib Kweli, Bea Miller,  Mali Music, Jaime Woods , Marie Davy, Casey Benjamin, Maurice Brown, Bob James, Gizmo, Dave Mackay Group


I have a full recording set up in my home studio with all the necessary updated softwares to record. Feel free to send me an email if you need me to record for your music .


I've always focused my lessons on the pleasure of playing aspect of it, and always apply what I've learnt from studying with some of the world's best teachers, or the experienced artists I've shared the stage with. My goal is to help you develop your ears and instrument skills so you'll be able to play in bands and have the tools to learn any songs you want by yourself. 

I have been teaching professionally for about 5 years now, In music schools or privately. I've also been doing clinics/masterclasses tours with the Dave Mackay group .
